More than 20 (mainly early career) researchers joined the workshop “Cardiac MRF Simulation & Evaluation” organised by Charité and PTB as part of the QUIERO project. This 1-day online event took place on July 6, 2022 and covered numerical simulations of cardiac MRF scans, clinical evaluation of quantitative images of the heart and machine learning-based detection of pathologies. The participants could learn directly from clinical experts why quantitative MRI is so important for patients but also what are the current pitfalls which prevent a more widespread use. In addition, participants could also simulate their own cardiac MRF scans and try to locate pathologies in the brain in the hands-on sessions. The event finished with an excellent talk by Prof. Dr. Claudia Prieto (King’s College London and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile) on “MRF – Past, Present, Future”.
